How I Feel About Finals Weeks So Far
Although technically finals week hasn't started yet, the past week has felt like one of the finals weeks. And, to be honest, I'm not a big fan. Why do we come back to school for a mere two weeks after a week of fun and relaxation and be expected to study for two weeks straight before going back home for a month? The pause in vacation seems cruel. However, on a more positive note, my exam schedule has allowed me lots of time to study and given me flexibility. Many teachers have allowed me to change my exam date to day that works better for me. It has also been nice being able to have entire days to myself in which I can plan nice breaks or fun things to do. Recently, I have been waking up and heading over to the gym, then going to the library with some friends and studying for most of the day. However, today I took a small break from the monagomy and drove a litle under an hour to go to San Gregorio, a small coastal town right on the coast. On the way there, we drove through tall and thick Redwoods and a very small woodsy town with a diner and Christmas tree farm. After the long and windy drive, we finally arrived in San Gregorio and went straight to the beach. This was the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. We walked up a bluff and could see the entire coastline. The large waves crashed and looked almost like clouds as the white break spurred. Above the waves, small birds frolicked among the splashes. Even a small fog concealed the distant shoreline. The entire scene was magical as the sun set. The short trip brought life back into me; it made me grateful and inspired again to keep studying and working so that I can go on more adventures and see more beautiful places. So, with this new perspective, I am going to throw myself into the rest of finals week and work as hard as I can.
I'm so glad you got this important getaway and took some pleasure and relaxation in the natural world...
